# Using the new '+'

> How I'm using the new '+' notation to represent a sub-ID.

Just a quick example of using the new [extend the end](/documentation/extend-the-end-overview) notation, where you append `+` to the _end_ of an ID.

## Family trip

The family are coming to see me at the end of November. Super exciting: mam, dad, sister, husband, kids. 🥳 Can't wait.

I'm tracking their trip at `15.52 Family trip to Australia, Nov 2024`. (This is all [life admin](/las/).)

That ID has a templated sub-structure already:

```text
10 Planning & ideas
20 Travel documents & visas
30 Getting there
40 Somewhere to stay
50 Moving around the place
60 Fun things to do
```

My Bear note was already a little busy, so I've split out the fun things to do. Now that note is `15.52+ Fun things to do`, and I've wiki-linked it from the main note.

I like how this denotes 'a child note'. The `+` feels obvious. Note how there's no need to duplicate the parent note's title. If you need to know what it is, just go look at it.
