Mitsu-bishi 9852

We all know I'm a sucker for a good pencil, and an orange hue. So when I walked past this beauty in Morioka's FES”AN (sic.) the other day, I was helpless.

I realise, for someone travelling with a single tiny bag, that I'm now over-pencilled. I have this, a 9850, another Mitsubishi 'Uni' whose exact model I can't track down but it's the blue one from this image, and 1.5 Blackwing Pearls, the smaller of which I just discovered Blu-Tacked in to the back of a notebook.

Given that you can buy a pencil literally anywhere, I might not have needed to bring that many with me.

Interestingly, the Mitsubishi Pencil Company has no relation to the broader Mitsubishi Group. It's a name I gravitate towards; I'm pretty sure I viewed my Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ through a late-1980s Mitsubishi TV set.
